We have a local pawn shop in here in Connecticut that does an ad on cable where they have an old time looking/dressing Macho Man and Hulkster come into the shop–it’s pretty amusing. The Hulk goes “Is that YOU Macho man? Are you buying or pawning?” And the Macho Man guy goes (in a pretty damned good Macho Voice) “Anything and everything, but nothing in Par-Tick-You-Lar.” Fun stuff…
Sammy, you’ve got to post that here. I must see this. (By the way–I picked up the Savage “Defining Moments” figure. I never thought I’d say this about an action figure, but it was worth $23.
The All Stars game looks awesome. I’m really excited that Macho will be included and Scott, that Macho Man figure was TOTALLY worth the $23. Mattel really knows what a wrestling nerd wants.

I found it! Get ready to crack up! They STILL play it during sports stuff on local cable.
Gosh, i wish that was the whole Space Ghost episode..
“Have you met Haystacks Calhoun? He was a mountain of a man! I sent him home to Mommy with a rollin’ DDT! How about Gorgeous George? Chief “Wahoo” McDaniel? Leaping Lanny? Wildfire Tommy Rich? They all fell victim to my credit! Purple, nurple, Jerry Belly, oh yeah!”
The Tommy rich mention especially get me
So….I guess this means we’ll see Savage inducted in the WWE HOF this year? We can only hope…
@Calcifer: I searched high and low to find the entire episode. I, too, marked out over the Tommy Rich reference. @Steve: I’m thinking Savage will be the headline inductee next year, although Atlanta would be fitting, as I believe it was Ole Anderson who gave him the working surname “Savage” for his early Georgia appearances.
I’d love to see him inducted in Atlanta (as I will be there) But there’s no way he’s playing second fiddle to HBK. Savage will be the headliner when he goes in as there’s no point in wasting a money making opportunity by having to headliners this year.
In addition to the talk of WCW guys, I’m really hoping we get some GCW people in the HoF this year. Especially Mr. Wrestling II. I could also see LOD and/or the Freebirds going in.
Freebirds would be my best guess, with Arn and Tully a close second. (If not all of them)
Meltzer is reporting that the Freebirds, Arn Anderson, Bob Armstrong and the Road Warriors will all go in this year, along with Michaels. I know they’ve talked to Tommy Rich, but that seems to have been more of a courtesy.
Bob Armstrong will be nice, but who between you and I will remember? He was an athletic freak for his age, was always a fan. I would prefer the Road Warriors be sent in by themselves, and not w/ the Freebirds–but that’s because I am admittedly a huge Roadies mark, and whether that’s good or bad, I’m not the one to make that call. LOL.
I never saw the ‘Birds live, can’t tell you HOW many times I saw the Warriors live, including the the Summer Slam they won the straps from the Nasty Boys at MSG (think Savage/Elizabeth Wedding—-Henning/Bret Hart IC Title match)—I was working at Wizard (which if you missed it Scott, they just killed off the magazine early this week) and the guys from Valiant, who had the WWE comic license at that time, had 6 row on the floor—and they invited me to go with the crew–which I was (go figure) rather happy to attend with them.
