I can be reached at [email protected], or leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you as soon as it’s humanly possibly. If you live in the greater Los Angeles area, a flare gun is another option.
is it true that tommy rich never went to the gym?…i know he never had a road warriors physique, but ive seen him in person a few times and hes quite a big fellow…thought maybe he trained in powerlifting for size and strength…thanks
For me chaos reigned at one specific match back in the day….can’t remember but it was Lawler Savage era and basically the match went out of the ring and into a concession stand where glass bottles of mustard and catch were cracked over each other’s heads….
See the old clips you link to reminds me of the rug burns I get from my older brother pinning me during commercial breaks…the sleeper hold wasn’t something that should have been shown to kids like me at the time.
Just curious if you know the match I’m talking about.
Hey, Dax, great to hear from you. How’s life in Memphis? Yeah, believe it or not, I usually wore a “Nature Boy” Ric Flair T-shirt underneath my goalie shirt. Hope this finds you well. I can honestly say that I believe I’m the only BHS soccer alum who went on to have a brief career in professional wrestling-my parents are bursting with pride. As is Coach Kiser, I’m sure.
Bryce, glad we worked out the credit for the Missy photo. Thanks for pointing out the Contact option not working properly. I’ve added my email address above for future communication.
Regarding the record breaking Sept. 30, 1085 card headlined by Flair and Lawler. Results also have Flair working in Charlotte that day some 400 miles away and it was a Monday do I doubt it was a matinee.
The Memphis card obviously happened, but I am curious if you have any details on any of these guys working earlier that day in Charlotte.
Love your site- really takes me back.

Could you explain about the video distibution system back in the old mid south territory?
Obviously, every saturday morn on TV5 there would be a 90 minute live show. This was taped and sent to the other areas? nashville, evansville, northern mississippi etc? Did an edited version of the saturday morning show go out?
I grew up in Memphis but my grandparents lived in mississippi and I used to see a show there that would be an hour of strictly tape of the previous monday nights action at mid south coliseum with lance announcing ringside- I always enjoyed that show most. Was this used in other areas as well?
Tv5’s show would often cut to tape of mid south action but often had a lot of studio crush job canvas-back action. (another good story idea- where did they get some of those guys?)
I find it hard to fathom that with all these videos being made and sent out all over that someone was not making or keeping copies- especially the coliseum stuff… and surely they had some sort of professional video duplication equipment having to make so many copies so frequently…
any insight?
Scott, back in the seventies there was an older wrestler named Buddy Hack. Very talented. I can’t remember if he was with Gulas or maybe the Poffos. I saw a bit that looked so real I almost think it was, Pepe Lopez was smokin a big cigar,he and Buddy wrer arguing durind an interview. Buddy hit him in face driving cigar down his throat and burnt Pepe’s mouth and Buddy’s hand.
Scott, I meant to ask if you could tell me anything about Buddy Hack. Also, were the wrestlers that were not really big stars but were on tv treated like stars around town?
Sorry for not getting back to you guys (y’all) sooner. I’m well. And I’m back. With a vengeance. Seriously, though, professional gigs (y’know, paying) had to come first for a while. Plus, I was burned out. Cleaning up the site right now (deleting dead links and references to YouTube footage that has since been deleted by the McMahon machine. Thanks for your concern. Good to be back.
Scott, I’ve frequented your site a lot over the past couple of years or so. I have a question about the September 11, 1988 show which was edited to 60 min. and shown in Evansville on Sep. 18. There are no live matches in that show. I’m wondering if the Sep. 11 90 min. Memphis show also included no live matches. The Olympics did not begin until Sep. 17. Thanks for the site and for any help you can provide!
Do you remember watching in late 1960’s or early 1970’s when Tojo was a bad guyand Jackie was a good guy ?
Jackie Fargo was tag teaming and they were wrestling a team of bad guys. The bad guys cheated and was working Jackie Fargo over pretty good.
Another wrestler came out of the shower from the locker room– yes covered in soap and shampoo- and tried to help but was knocked out too.
All seemed lost and then ALL the sudden Tojo comes out with the wooden shoe and comes to Jackie’s rescue.
After that they were a team and started wrestling together.
Do you remeber that match ??? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
That has been one of my childhood fondest memory’s.

No idea. But that could explain Flair’s lackluster performance.
Didn’t know if you’d seen this yet, but it’s a fascinating read…

Good to have you back, Bowden.
Don’t mean to be a “worrywart” but are you ok? We miss you!
You don’t have to post but, man, we miss your posts AND we worry about you.
